What is an A record GoDaddy?

An A record is a DNS record that is set up to map an IP address to a hostname. When you type in a domain name into your browser, your computer looks up the IP address corresponding to that domain name, and then sends you to the website that is hosted on that IP address.

If you want to access a website that is not hosted on your local computer, you need to find its IP address first. You can do this by looking it up on a website like IP Broadcast or IP Lookup.

Once you have the IP address, you can use a tool like Google Maps to find the location of the website.

To set up an A record for a domain name, you need to go to the hosting company’s website, and sign up for a domain name account. Then, you will need to go to the DNS section of your account, and set up an A record for the domain name.

The format for an A record is as follows:

Hostname.IP.Hostname

For example, if you wanted to set up an A record for the domain name example.com, you would type in the following into your DNS section of your account:

PRO TIP: An A record is a type of DNS record that allows a domain name to be mapped to an IP address. GoDaddy is a domain name registrar and web hosting company. While you can use GoDaddy to register a domain name and set up an A record, it is not recommended as they are not a DNS provider. There are many free and paid DNS providers that offer better performance and features.

example.com. 192.168.

1.101 example.

This would set up an A record for the domain name example.com that would point to the IP address 192.101.
