How do you make a symmetrical flower in Illustrator?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 6:54 pm

Creating symmetrical flowers in Illustrator is a relatively easy process. The first step is to create a basic shape for the flower.

The most common symmetrical shape is a circle, but you can use any shape that is symmetrical.

The next step is to create the petals. To create a petal, start by drawing a round shape in the center of the flower. The radius of the petal should be the same as the radius of the circle that you originally created.

Next, use the Pathfinder tool to offset the center of the petal by a small amount. This will create the appearance of a petal that is slightly curved.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, you can easily create a flower that is not symmetrical in Illustrator. To avoid this, take care to create each petal and leaf in the same way, and be sure to mirror them as you work. With a little practice, you can create beautiful symmetrical flowers in Illustrator!

To create the other petals, use the same process as before, but offset the center of the petal by a larger amount. The final step is to add a border around the outside of the petals.

Use the same radius for the border as the radius of the petals.

Now that your flower is finished, you can add a finishing touch by adding a color and a texture. To add a color, select the petals and click on the color swatch in the Properties panel.

To add a texture, select the border around the petals and click on the texture swatch in the Properties panel.
