In this tutorial, we will show you how to create a textured brush in Illustrator. First, create a new document with the size of 640x480px. Next, use the Rectangle Tool (M) to create a square measuring 640x640px. Make sure that the Fill color is set to black and the Stroke color is set to white.
Next, select the Textured Brush tool from the Brushes panel and click on the square. In the Options bar, set the Size to 100 and the Mode to Normal. Click on the brush to apply the settings. Finally, set the Opacity to 75%.
Now, create a new document with the size of 480x300px. Use the Rectangle Tool (M) to create a square measuring 480x480px. Next, select the Textured Brush tool from the Brushes panel and click on the square.
When using the Brush Tool, be sure to select the ‘Shape’ option from the drop-down menu. This will allow you to create a custom brush shape. Next, select the ‘Texture’ option from the drop-down menu. Here you can choose from a variety of textures, or you can even create your own.
Once you have selected the desired texture, simply click and drag your mouse across the page to create your textured brush. Remember, the size and shape of your brush will determine the overall look of your texture. So experiment with different sizes and shapes until you find one that you like.
In the Options bar, set the Size to 50 and the Mode to Normal. Finally, set the Opacity to 50%.
The two brushes now have a different texture. To create a more refined texture, you can increase the Size value of the Textured Brush tool.
For example, if you want the brush to have a size of 100px, enter 100 into the Size field in the Options bar.
