There are a few ways to change colors in Illustrator. You can use the Color Picker, or the Color Panel.
The Color Picker is found in the Tools Panel, and the Color Panel is found in the Window menu.
The Color Picker lets you select colors by clicking on them with your mouse. The Color Panel lets you select colors by clicking on the color squares next to the color swatches.
To change the color of a selected object, use the Object > Change Color command. This command has two options:
• To change the color of the entire object, choose a new color in the Color Picker or Color Panel.
• To change the color of a selected object only, choose a new color in the Color Picker and then click on the color square next to the object’s color swatch.
To change the color of a selected object and all its child objects, use the Object > Change Color > Child Objects command. This command has three options:
• To change the color of the entire object and all its child objects, choose a new color in the Color Picker or Color Panel.
• To change the color of a selected object and only its child objects that are selected, choose a new color in the Color Picker and then click on the color square next to the object’s color swatch.
