Stroke is an important feature of Illustrator. It allows you to create smooth lines and shapes by drawing with a Pen tool, or by using the Stroke option on the Pencil tool.

Stroke is also available on the Brush tool.

You can create a stroke by clicking and dragging the Pen or Pencil tool across the artboard. You can also create a stroke by choosing Stroke from the Stroke menu on the Pen or Pencil tool.

When you create a stroke, Illustrator creates a series of connected lines. You can modify the stroke by adjusting the start and end points, the width, and the color.

You can also add a fill or a stroke weight to the stroke.

You can also create a stroke by using the Shape tool. To create a stroke with the Shape tool, click and drag the tool around the artboard.

You can also choose Stroke from the Stroke menu on the Shape tool.

PRO TIP: If you are working in Illustrator and cannot find the stroke option, be sure to check that you are in the right workspace. The stroke option is located in the toolbar on the left side of the workspace. If you don’t see the toolbar, go to Window > Workspace > Essentials.

You can use the Shape tool to create strokes that are different widths, or that have different colors. You can also use the Shape tool to create strokes that have a different start and end point.

The final stroke you create with the Shape tool is the stroke that is displayed in your art.
