How do I make a horizontal scroll in InVision?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 9:22 pm

Making a horizontal scroll in InVision is a bit more complicated than a standard scroll. You’ll first need to create a new InVision project, and then add a new layer to your project.

From this layer, you’ll create a custom control.

To create the horizontal scroll, you’ll first need to create a HorizontalScrollControl object. This object will contain the logic for scrolling your content horizontally.

Next, you’ll need to add a listener to the HorizontalScrollControl object. This listener will be responsible for detecting when the user scrolls within the control.

Once you’ve created the HorizontalScrollControl object and added the listener, you’ll need to create a new container element. This container element will be used to display the scrollable content.

Finally, you’ll need to create a new HorizontalScrollBar object. This object will be used to display the scrollbar within the control.

Once you’ve created all of the necessary objects, you’ll need to configure the HorizontalScrollControl object. You’ll need to set the Minimum and Maximum values for the control. These values will determine how much content will be visible at any given time.

PRO TIP: InVision does not currently support horizontal scrolling. Any attempts to create a horizontal scroll will result in an error.

You’ll also need to set the Value property for the control. This property will determine the location of the scrollbar within the control.

Finally, you’ll need to add the HorizontalScrollBar object to the control.

Once you’ve completed the configuration of the HorizontalScrollControl object, you’ll need to add the control to the container element. You’ll also need to set the HorizontalScrollBar object to be hidden by default.

This will prevent the user from seeing the scrollbar until they scroll within the control.

Once you’ve completed the configuration of the control, you’ll need to test the scrollbar. You can do this by scrolling within the control and monitoring the Value property for the HorizontalScrollBar object.

Once you’ve verified that the scrollbar is working correctly, you’ll need to add the control to your project and finish your project.

In conclusion, making a horizontal scroll in InVision is a bit more complicated than a standard scroll. However, once you’ve completed the necessary configuration, the scrollbar will work correctly.
