Force HTTPS on HostGator

If you’re using HostGator, you may have noticed that they don’t always enforce HTTPS. This can be a bit of a pain if you want to use HTTPS for security reasons.

Luckily, there’s a way to force HTTPS on HostGator.

To force HTTPS on HostGator, you’ll need to go to the Site Settings page and look for the Security section. Here, you’ll want to find theSSL section and check the box next to Enable SSL.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to force https on HostGator, please be aware that there are potential risks involved. This includes, but is not limited to, the potential for data loss or corruption, and the possibility of your site becoming inaccessible. Please proceed with caution and backup your site before proceeding.

After you do this, HostGator will start enforcing HTTPS everywhere.

As long as you’re using HostGator, you can safely assume that they will be enforcing HTTPS. However, if you’re using a different hosting company, you may have to check with them to see if they support HTTPS.
