How do I create a subdomain in HostGator?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 7:19 pm

If you want to create a subdomain on HostGator, the process is relatively simple.

First, click on the “Domains” tab on the left-hand side of the HostGator interface.

Then, click on the “Create Domain” button.

In the “Domain Name” field, type the name of the subdomain you want to create.

In the “Host Name” field, type the name of the host on which the subdomain will be hosted.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with DNS records and domain name servers, we recommend that you contact HostGator support for assistance with creating a subdomain. Modifying DNS records can have unintended consequences if done incorrectly, so it is best to leave this task to those with experience.

In the “Registrar” field, type the name of the registrar through which the subdomain will be registered.

In the “Email Address” field, type the email address of the host for the subdomain.

In the “Password” field, type the password for the host for the subdomain.

Click on the “Create Domain” button.

Once the subdomain has been created, you will be able to access it by visiting the “Domains” tab on the left-hand side of the HostGator interface, clicking on the subdomain in the list, and entering the login credentials for the host for the subdomain.
