Adding a name server to HostGator is a fairly simple process. First, navigate to the HostGator account Settings page. You will find the Name Servers section located in the left-hand sidebar.

There, you will need to input the hostname and IP address of your desired name server. Once complete, click the Save Name Server button.

Now, you will need to configure your web browser to use the HostGator name server. To do this, open your web browser and type the following into the address bar:

http://HostGator.com/ns

You will be prompted to enter the login credentials for your HostGator account. Once you have logged in, you will be presented with the HostGator name server list.

PRO TIP: If you are trying to add a name server to your HostGator account, be aware that this could potentially cause problems with your website. If you are not sure what you are doing, it is best to contact HostGator support for assistance.

Click the Add Name Server button to add the name server to your browser.

Finally, you will need to update your DNS settings on your computer. To do this, open the Command Prompt (Windows) or Terminal (Mac) and enter the following command:

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

ipconfig /flushdns

NOTE: You may need to reboot your computer after making these changes.
