Google Cloud accounts are a way to store your data and applications in the cloud. With a Google Cloud account, you can:

Upload your files and data to the cloud.

Access your files from anywhere.

Share your files with others.

Use the Google Cloud Platform services.

To create a Google Cloud account, go to Google Cloud Platform web console and sign in. You can create a new account or use an existing Google account.

When you create a new account, you’re prompted to choose a project name and a region. The project name is the name by which you’ll be known in the Google Cloud Platform services.

The region is the location where the Google Cloud Platform services are available.

They are different from regular Google Accounts, which are used for Gmail, YouTube, and other Google products. It is important to keep your Google Cloud account and your regular Google account separate, as mixing the two can lead to problems.

If you choose to create a new account, you’ll be asked to provide a phone number so that you can be contacted if there are problems with your account.

After you create your account, you’ll be prompted to create a security key. A security key is a unique password that you use to access your Google Cloud account. You’ll need to provide your security key when you want to:

Upload files to the cloud

Access files from the cloud

Share files with others

Use the Google Cloud Platform services

To create a security key, go to the Google Cloud Platform web console and sign in. On the left side of the account management page, click Security Keys.
