How do I login as administrator in Joomla?

Administrator login in Joomla is done via the administrator panel. To open the administrator panel, go to:

1. In the main menu, click Site Management.

2. On the Site Management page, click the Administration link.

3. In the Administration panel, click the Login link.

4. In the Login panel, enter your administrator username and password.

5. Click the Log In button.

6. If you are prompted to create a new administrator account, click Yes.

7. In the Log In panel, click the Go Back button.

8. In the Administration panel, click the Site Settings link.

9. In the Site Settings panel, click the Security link.

10. In the Security panel, click the Login link.

11. Click the Go Back button.

12. In the Site Settings panel, click the Content link.

13. In the Content panel, click the Site Manager link.

14. In the Site Manager panel, click the Site Settings link.

15. In the Site Settings panel, click the Modules link.

16. In the Modules panel, click the Extensions link.

17. In the Extensions panel, click the Joomla! Extension Manager link.

18. In the Joomla! Extension Manager panel, click the Extensions link.

19. In the Joomla! Extension Manager panel, click the Install Extension button.

20. In the Install Extension dialog box, click the Browse button.

21. In the Browse for File dialog box, click the Joomla!_administrator.php file.

22. Click the Upload button.

23. In the Upload File dialog box, click the Open button.

24. In the Open File dialog box, click the OK button.

25. In the Install Extension dialog box, click the Install button.

26. In the Install Extension dialog box, click the Yes button.

27. In the Install Extension dialog box, click the Close button.

28. In the Site Manager panel, click the Sites link.

29. In the Sites panel, click the site you want to manage.

30. In the Joomla! Extension Manager panel, click the Disable button.

31. In the Joomla! Extension Manager panel, click the Uninstall Extension button.

32. In the Uninstall Extension dialog box, click the Yes button.

33. In the Uninstall Extension dialog box, click the Close button.

34. In the Joomla! Extension Manager panel, click the Enable button.

35. In the Joomla! Extension Manager panel, click the Reload button.

PRO TIP: If you are not the site administrator, you should not be attempting to login as administrator in Joomla. Only the site administrator should have this login information, and if you are not the site administrator, attempting to login as administrator could cause serious security issues for the site.
