How do you add overlays in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 3:54 pm

In Photoshop, you can add overlays to images by using the Layer Mask tool. You can use the Layer Mask tool to hide or reveal portions of the image. To use the Layer Mask tool, first select the layer you want to use as the mask. Next, click the Layer Mask button in the Layers palette.

PRO TIP: Overlays are a layer type in Photoshop that allows you to place an image on top of another image. You can use overlays to create interesting effects or to simply add an image to another image. However, if you are not careful, you can end up with an image that looks unnatural or artificial.

The Layer Mask dialog box will open. In this dialog box, you can select the areas of the image that you want to masked. To hide the mask, click the Hide Mask button. To reveal the mask, click the Show Mask button.
