There are a few easy steps you can follow to turn a regular photo into a psychedelic masterpiece using Photoshop.

1. Choose a bright, colorful image. The brighter and more vibrant the colors, the more trippy the final effect will be.

2. Duplicate the background layer. Go to Layer > Duplicate Layer.

This will give you a second copy of the image to work with.

3. Apply the kaleidoscope filter. Go to Filter > Distort > Kaleidoscope.

Play around with the various settings until you find a look you like. Be sure to click “Preview” so you can see how your changes will affect the image.

4. Apply the waves filter. Go to Filter > Distort > Wave. Again, play around with the settings until you get a look you’re happy with.

5. Add some motion blur. Go to Filter > Blur > Motion Blur.

Use a low setting so the effect is subtle.

6. Adjust the levels. Go to Image > Adjustments > Levels.

Drag the sliders around until you get a bright, vivid image.

7. Save your image. That’s it!

You’re all done. Now save your image as a JPEG so you can share it with your friends.
