There are a couple different ways that you can go about creating a VHS effect in Photoshop. One way is to use the layer styles. Go to your layer panel and double click on the layer that you want to apply the effect to.

This will bring up the Layer Style window. Next, click on “Pattern Overlay” and choose the “Grain” option. Set the scale to around 4% and experiment with the other options until you get something that looks good.

Another way to create a VHS effect is to use a Photoshop action. There are a few different ones available online, but I recommend using this one: https://crtv.mk/r03D0.

Just download it, open up your image, and run the action. It will automatically apply all of the necessary effects to give your image that vintage VHS look.
