If you have ever taken a photo with a Canon DSLR camera, you may have noticed that the photos are saved in the .CR2 file format. While this format is great for keeping all of the data from your photos intact, it is not as widely compatible as the JPEG format.

This can make it difficult to share your photos with others or even open them on your own computer if you don’t have the right software. Luckily, there are a few ways that you can convert your CR2 files to JPEG without using Photoshop.

One way to convert CR2 to JPEG is to use a free online converter. There are a number of these converters available, and they all work in basically the same way.

Just go to the website, select your CR2 file, and then choose JPEG as the output format. The converter will take care of the rest.

Another way to convert CR2 to JPEG is to use a free program like GIMP. GIMP is an image editor that can be used for a variety of tasks, including converting between different file formats. To convert your CR2 files to JPEG with GIMP, just open the program and go to File Open.

Then select your CR2 files and click Open. Next, go to File > Export As and choose JPEG as the file format. You can also change some other settings like quality and resolution before exporting if you want.

If you have Photoshop, you can also use it to convert CR2 to JPEG. Just open your CR2 file in Photoshop and go to File > Save As.

In the save dialog box, make sure you change the Format drop-down menu to JPEG before clicking Save. You may also want to change some of the other settings like quality or resolution before saving if you need too.

No matter which method you use, converting your CR2 files to JPEG should only take a few seconds. And once they’re in JPEG format, you’ll be able to open them on just about any device or computer without any issues.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, converting CR2 files to JPEG without Photoshop can result in losing data or quality. Make sure you know what you are doing before attempting to convert any files.
