There are a few different ways that you can add chrome effects to your text in Photoshop. One way is to use the “Layer Styles” dialog box. To do this, simply select the layer that you want to apply the effect to, and then click on the “Layer Styles” icon in the Layers panel.

In the Layer Style dialog box, select the “Bevel and Emboss” option, and then choose the “Chrome” preset from the drop-down menu. You can also adjust the “Size” and “Softness” options to get the exact look that you want.

Another way to add chrome effects is to use a displacement map. To do this, create a new layer above your text layer, and fill it with black.

PRO TIP: This article provides instruction on how to add Chrome effects to images in Photoshop. However, it is important to note that these effects can potentially damage your image if used incorrectly. Therefore, it is advised to use caution when applying these effects and to consult with a professional if you are unsure about how to properly use them.

Then, go to Filter > Distort > Displace. In the Displace dialog box, select your black layer as the “displacement map,” and choose an amount of pixels to offset by.

Once you’ve applied the displacement map, go to Layer > Layer Style > Bevel and Emboss, and select the “Chrome” preset once again. You’ll probably want to increase the size of your bevel so that it’s more noticeable.

There are endless possibilities when it comes to creating chrome text effects in Photoshop. By experiment with different layer styles, filters, and displacements maps, you can come up with all sorts of unique looks.
