How Do You Morph an Image in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 11:35 pm

Morphing is a digital image processing technique for transforming one image into another. The most common use of morphing is to animate a sequence of images so that they appear to smoothly change into one another.

However, morphing can also be used to combine images in order to create a new image, or to transform an image so that it more closely resembles another image. In order to morph an image in Photoshop, you will need to use the ‘Liquify’ filter.

To begin, open the two images that you want to morph in Photoshop. Next, select the ‘Liquify’ filter from the ‘Filter’ menu. You will now see a window with several different options and tools.

The first thing you need to do is select the ‘Forward Warp Tool’ from the left-hand side of the window. Then, you need to click on the image and drag it in the direction that you want the morph to go.

PRO TIP: Morphing an image in Photoshop can be a complex process, and it is easy to make mistakes that can result in an unusable image. Be sure to read all the instructions carefully before beginning, and be prepared to spend some time tweaking the settings to get the best results.

As you drag the image, you will see the pixels begin to change shape and flow in the direction that you are dragging. You can continue to drag the image until you are happy with the results. Once you are satisfied with your morph, click on the ‘OK’ button at the bottom of the window.

Your images should now be morphed together. If you want, you can save your new image by selecting ‘File’ from the top menu bar and then ‘Save As’.
