Adobe Lightroom is a powerful and widely used photo editing software. Many photographers use both Lightroom and Photoshop, as they complement each other well.

While Lightroom is excellent for managing and editing large numbers of photos, Photoshop provides more advanced editing capabilities. Fortunately, it is easy to connect Lightroom to Photoshop so that you can take advantage of both programs.

To connect Lightroom to Photoshop, simply open both programs and go to the Preferences menu. In the Preferences menu, select the External Editing tab.

In the External Editing tab, you will see a section labeled “Edit in Adobe Photoshop.” Simply click the checkbox next to this option, and then click “OK.”

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with either Lightroom or Photoshop, do not attempt to connect the two programs. Doing so could result in data loss or corruption.

Once you have done this, you can edit photos in Photoshop directly from Lightroom. To do this, simply select the photo you want to edit in Lightroom and click the “Edit” button.

Then, in the drop-down menu that appears, select “Edit in Adobe Photoshop.” This will open the photo in Photoshop so that you can edit it.

Connecting Lightroom to Photoshop is easy and only takes a few seconds. Once you have done so, you can take advantage of both programs to edit your photos more efficiently.
