Is WooCommerce a CMS?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 9:40 pm

WooCommerce is not a CMS. WooCommerce is a eCommerce platform that allows users to create their own custom online stores. WooCommerce does have some features that are common to CMSs, such as the ability to create custom pages and posts, as well as manage content and users, but it is not a full-blown CMS. This means that WooCommerce does not have the ability to create custom templates or designs, manage content types and taxonomies, or create custom functions.

PRO TIP: WooCommerce is not a Content Management System (CMS). It is a WordPress plugin that adds eCommerce functionality to your WordPress website. If you want to use WooCommerce to sell products or services online, you will need to install WordPress first, and then install the WooCommerce plugin.

Because of this, WooCommerce is not as widely used as some of the more popular CMSs, such as WordPress and Drupal. However, it is still a popular platform, and is available in a variety of languages and platforms.
