Dashed lines are a great way to add visual interest to your designs, and Photoshop makes it easy to create them. In this quick tip, we’ll learn how to create a custom dashed line brush that you can use over and over again. Then we’ll learn how to style text using the < p >, < b >, and < u > tags in HTML.

First, open up a new Photoshop document and create a new layer. Then grab the Pen Tool (P) and click once on the canvas to create a new point. With the point selected, click on the “Stroke” button in the Options Bar and set the stroke color to black. Set the stroke width to 4px and make sure the “Align Stroke” option is set to “Outside.”

Then click on the “Line” option in the Options Bar and set the line type to “Dotted.” Now click on the “Brush” option in the Options Bar and select a brush from the list. I’m using a 2px hard round brush.

Next, click on the “Paths” tab in the Layers panel and drag your path into the new layer icon to create a work path. With your work path selected, go back to the “Brush” option in the Options Bar and click on the “Edit” button. This will open up the Brush Settings dialog box. In this dialog box, you’ll want to set your spacing to 20%.

This will give you nice, even dashed lines. You can also experiment with different brush sizes and shapes until you find something you like. Once you’re happy with your settings, click “OK” to close the dialog box.

Now all you have to do is stroke your path! Go back to the “Stroke” button in the Options Bar and click on it.

This will stroke your path with your custom dashed line brush. And that’s it! You can now use this dashed line brush over and over again by simply clicking on it in the Brushes panel.
