When it comes to Photoshop, there are a lot of different ways to make a portrait. But here are five easy steps on how to make a portrait in Photoshop.

1) Open up Photoshop and create a new document. The first thing you need to do is set the width and height of the document. For this example, we’ll use 8×10 inches.

2) Next, you need to add a background layer. To do this, go to Layer > New > Background from Layer. A new layer will appear in your Layers palette.

3) Now it’s time to add your subject’s photo onto the document. Go to File > Place and select the photo you want to use. Once you have the photo placed on the document, go to Edit > Free Transform and resize the photo as needed.

4) The next step is to crop the photo. To do this, go to Image > Crop.

A cropping tool will appear and you can drag it around the photo to crop as desired. Once you’re happy with the crop, press Enter/Return.

5) The last step is to add a vignette effect to the photo. To do this, go to Filter > Lens Correction and select Vignette from the drop-down menu. Adjust the Amount and Midpoint sliders until you’re happy with the look of the vignette, then click OK.
