To use light leak overlay in Photoshop, first open your image. Select the area you want to apply the light leak to. Go to Filter > Render > Lighting Effects.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that using light leak overlays in Photoshop can result in distorted images. If you are not careful, your image may end up looking like it has been damaged by a light leak. Use these overlays with caution and at your own risk.

In the Lighting Effects dialog box, select the light leak from the drop-down menu. Adjust the light leak settings to your liking. Click OK when you’re done.

Light leaks are a great way to add some creative flair to your photos. They can be used to simulate sun flares, or just to add some unique lighting effects. Photoshop makes it easy to add light leaks to your photos with the Lighting Effects filter.
