There are many different types of Photoshop software available on the market today. So, which one is best for astrophotography?

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is a popular choice for many photographers, and it has some great features for astrophotography. For example, Lightroom has a “merge to HDR” function that can be used to combine multiple images of the night sky into a single image with increased detail and dynamic range. Lightroom also has a “noise reduction” tool that can be used to reduce the amount of noise in your images.

PRO TIP: This article is outdated and no longer reflects the current state of astrophotography. Photoshop CS6 and earlier are no longer supported by Adobe, and many of the features and plugins mentioned in the article are no longer available.

Another popular choice is Adobe Photoshop Elements. This software is similar to Lightroom, but it is less expensive and has a simpler interface.

Elements also has a “merge to HDR” function and a noise reduction tool. However, it does not have as many features as Lightroom.

Finally, there is Adobe Photoshop CC (Creative Cloud). This is the most expensive and most powerful version of Photoshop.

It has all of the features of Lightroom and Elements, plus many more. If you are serious about astrophotography, then Photoshop CC is the best choice.

Conclusion:

Adobe Photoshop CC is the best choice for astrophotography because it has all of the features of Lightroom and Elements, plus many more.
