What size should images be for WooCommerce?

When setting up WooCommerce, you’ll need to decide on the image sizes you’ll use. Images can be any size you like, but the following sizes are recommended:

Product Images: 112 x 112 pixels

Category Images: 128 x 128 pixels

Product Thumbnail: 64 x 64 pixels

There’s no need to be too specific with these sizes, as WooCommerce will automatically resize images to fit within the specified dimensions. However, if you’re using high-resolution images (e.

g. 1000 x 1000 pixels), you may want to set the dimensions to 1024 x 1024 pixels so they’ll fill the whole page without stretching.

PRO TIP: Images that are too small may not be able to be used for WooCommerce and may not meet the minimum requirements.

Once you’ve chosen your image sizes, you’ll need to add them to your WooCommerce templates. To do this, open the WooCommerce theme you’re using, and locate the images folder. Inside this folder, you’ll find a folder for each theme layout – e. product, category, and so on.

Next, locate the images file you want to use, and drag it over to the images folder in your WooCommerce theme. WooCommerce will now use this image as your product image, category image, or thumbnail.

If you want to change the image size for a specific layout, you can do so by editing the corresponding template file. For example, to change the product image size to 1200 x 1200 pixels, you would open the product template file, and locate the element where you want the image to appear.

Replace the existing image with the one you want to use, and then save the file.

Once you’ve edited the template files, you’ll need to reload the WooCommerce site to apply the changes. Alternatively, you can click the “Load Theme” button on the WooCommerce header, and then select the template you want to use.

Finally, remember to set your product images as thumbnail images if you want them to be smaller than the product image size. To do this, open the product’s settings page, and locate the “Thumbnail” setting.

Change the value to “Small” if you want the thumbnail to be 80 x 80 pixels, or “Medium” if you want it to be 128 x 128 pixels.
