There are a few different uses for CTRL Shift I in Photoshop. One use is to invert the colors of a selection.

To do this, simply make a selection, then press CTRL Shift I. The colors will invert, making the selection stand out against the background.

Another use for CTRL Shift I is to desaturate a selection. This can be useful if you want to create a black and white effect, or if you want to remove color from a selection for any reason.

PRO TIP: This keyboard shortcut is used to open the ‘Info’ panel in Photoshop. However, if you accidentally press CTRL + Shift + I, it will invert your image. Therefore, be careful when using this keyboard shortcut and make sure you only press it when you intend to open the ‘Info’ panel.

To desaturate a selection, simply make a selection and press CTRL Shift I. The colors will be removed, leaving the selection in shades of gray.

Finally, CTRL Shift I can be used to change the blending mode of a layer. To do this, simply select the layer you want to change, then press CTRL Shift I.

A menu will appear allowing you to choose from different blending modes. Each mode will change the way the layer looks, so experiment until you find one you like.

So there you have it – three different uses for CTRL Shift I in Photoshop! Give them a try next time you’re working on a project and see how they can help you get the results you want.
