How Do I Use the History Brush in Photoshop CC?

The History Brush is a powerful tool in Photoshop CC that allows you to selectively restore areas of an image to a previous state. This can be useful for correcting mistakes, or for creating interesting effects by combining different parts of an image from different stages in its history.

To use the History Brush, first select the brush tool from the toolbar (or press the letter B on your keyboard). Then, in the options bar at the top of the screen, select the history state that you want to brush from the drop-down menu. You can also adjust the size and hardness of the brush, as well as its opacity.

PRO TIP: The History Brush in Photoshop CC can be a great tool for quickly correcting mistakes or for creating interesting effects. However, it is important to use it carefully, as it can also easily create unwanted changes to your image. When using the History Brush, be sure to check your image carefully afterwards to make sure that you are happy with the results.

Once you’ve selected the desired history state, simply click and drag over the areas that you want to restore. The History Brush will automatically “paint” those areas with pixels from the selected history state. You can continue painting over other areas to build up the effect.

If you make a mistake or want to start over, simply press Alt+Ctrl+Z (Windows) or Option+Command+Z (Mac) to undo your last brush stroke.
