Why Are My Photoshop Edits Not Showing in Lightroom?

If you’re a photographer, you’re likely familiar with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. You may even use both programs to edit your photos. But what happens when you make edits in Photoshop and they don’t show up in Lightroom?

There are a few possible reasons for this. First, check to make sure that you’re actually editing the original file.

If you’re editing a copy of the file, your changes won’t be reflected in the original. Second, make sure that you’re saving your Photoshop edits as a separate file. If you save over the original file, your changes will be lost when you reopen it in Lightroom.

Another possibility is that your Photoshop edits aren’t showing up in Lightroom because you’re using the wrong color space. Lightroom uses ProPhoto RGB by default, while Photoshop uses sRGB. If your files are in different color spaces, your edits may not show up properly when viewed in Lightroom.

PRO TIP: If you are experiencing this issue, it is likely due to one of the following reasons:

1. You are working with a copy of the original image, and not the original itself.

2. The image you are working with is in a format that is not compatible with Lightroom.

3. You have made changes to the image in Photoshop that are not compatible with Lightroom’s workflow.

If you are unsure which of these is the case, we recommend contacting Adobe customer support for assistance.

Finally, it’s possible that your computer’s graphics processor is causing problems. If you have an older computer, try updating your graphics drivers. This may solve the issue.

If none of these solutions work, it’s likely that there’s a bug in either Photoshop or Lightroom. Try opening a support ticket with Adobe so they can help troubleshoot the problem.
