Can an Azure subscription have multiple tenants?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 11:52 am

Azure subscriptions can have multiple tenants, but there are some restrictions. A tenant is a logical grouping of resources that share the same billing address and billing account. A tenant can contain one or more resource groUPS.

You can have a single subscription that has multiple tenants, or multiple subscriptions that have a single tenant. If a tenant is deleted, all its resources and settings are also deleted.

PRO TIP: No. An Azure subscription can only be associated with a single Azure Active Directory tenant.

You can create as many tenants as you want, and you can have a mixture of on-premises and Azure resources in each tenant. If you want to use Azure resources in more than one tenant, you must create separate subscriptions for each tenant.

You can’t share resources between tenants. For example, you can’t create a subscription that has both on-premises and Azure resources in the same tenant.

If you want to use Azure resources in more than one tenant, you must create separate subscriptions for each tenant.
