Sky Overlay in Photoshop is one of the most popular and widely used features. It allows you to place an image of the sky over your photo, giving it a realistic look. There are many different ways to use this feature, and we will explore some of them in this article.
To use the sky overlay feature, first open your photo in Photoshop. Then, go to the “Layers” menu and select “New Layer.”
A new layer will appear on top of your photo. Next, click on the “Add Layer Mask” icon at the bottom of the layer panel. A layer mask will appear on your new layer.
Now, go to the “Select” menu and choose “Color Range.” In the Color Range dialog box, select the “Sky” option from the drop-down menu.
Photoshop will now select all of the blue pixels in your photo. Click OK to close the dialog box.
With your blue pixels selected, go back to the “Select” menu and choose “Inverse.” This will inverse your selection so that all of the non-blue pixels are now selected.
With your non-blue pixels still selected, go to the “Edit” menu and choose “Fill.” In the Fill dialog box, select the “Content-Aware” option from the drop-down menu.
This will fill your selected area with an image of the sky.
You can now deselect your pixels by going to the “Select” menu and choosing “Deselect.” Your sky overlay is now complete!
