Azure Regions provide a scalable, isolated, and managed compute environment for your applications and services. Azure Regions are composed of multiple regions in different parts of the world.

Azure also has global regions that provide a near-global compute environment. Azure regions are detailed in the following table.

Region Type Countries Asia Pacific East Asia South Asia West Asia North America Central US East US West US Europe Central Europe North Europe South Europe

Azure Regions provide a scalable compute environment with geographic isolation. You can deploy your applications and services in any of the Azure regions.

Azure also offers global regions that provide a near-global compute environment.

PRO TIP: Before reading this note, please be aware that Azure does not have a set number of regions. The number of regions can change at any time without notice.

Azure Regions are based on geographic regions. Azure has four global regions: East US, West US, East Asia, and South Asia. Azure also has thirteen regional regions: Asia Pacific East Asia, Asia Pacific South Asia, Central US East, Central US West, Europe, North Europe, South Europe, West Asia, and North America.

Azure also has two global compute regions: Azure Global and Azure Government. Azure Government offers government-specific features and services.

The table below summarizes the main features of Azure Regions.
