Are Canva Images Copyright?

Last updated on September 27, 2022 @ 9:20 pm

As we all know, Canva is a widely used design tool that helps its users to create beautiful designs with the help of templates, illustrations, and photos. You can either use their pre-made designs or create your own from scratch.

Canva also offers a huge library of photos, illustrations, and other graphic elements that you can use in your designs.

Now the question is, are these Canva images copyright?

The answer is both yes and no. Some of the photos and illustrations that you will find in Canva’s library are free to use for both commercial and non-commercial purposes. However, there are also some that are under copyright protection and can only be used if you have the proper license.

PRO TIP: Canva images are copyrighted and may not be used without permission.

To make things easier for you, Canva has labeled all of the images in their library according to whether they are free or not. You can find this information by clicking on the “i” icon that is located on each image. If the image is free to use, it will say “free for commercial and non-commercial use.” If it is not free to use, it will say “all rights reserved.”

In addition to labeling their images according to copyright status, Canva also provides users with a link to where they can purchase a license for copyrighted images, if they so choose. This link can be found under the “i” icon as well.

To sum it up, while some Canva images are free to use without a license, others are not. It is important to check the copyright status of an image before using it in your design to avoid any legal issues down the road.
