Whether you’re designing a presentation, a blog header, or a business card, chances are you’ll want to use some images. Canva is a great resource for finding beautiful, royalty-free photos and illustrations. But what does “royalty-free” mean?
In short, royalty-free means that you can use the image without paying any royalties or licensing fees. You can also use the image multiple times, in multiple projects, without having to pay again.
However, there are some caveats. Most royalty-free images come with a standard license, which means that you can use the image for personal or commercial purposes, but you can’t modify it or redistribute it. If you want to do either of those things, you’ll need to buy an extended license.
Canva offers both standard and extended licenses for all of its images. When you download an image from Canva, you’ll be prompted to choose the license type that you need. If you’re not sure which license to choose, just click on the “More info” link for each image.
So, are pictures on Canva royalty-free? Yes!
With a few exceptions, all of the images on Canva can be used without paying any royalties or licensing fees. Just be sure to choose the correct license type before downloading your image.
