Are Squarespace Websites Secure?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 2:18 am

This is a question that we get asked a lot, and it’s one that we take very seriously.

At Squarespace, we understand that security is a top priority for our customers. We work hard to ensure that all of our products are secure, and our websites are no exception.

PRO TIP: While Squarespace websites are generally secure, there have been some reported instances of hacks and data breaches. If you are concerned about the security of your website, we recommend that you take steps to ensure that your site is as secure as possible. This includes using a strong password for your Squarespace account and ensuring that all software on your website is up to date.

Websites built with Squarespace are automatically encrypted with SSL certificates, which means that your site is always securely connected to our servers. Your site’s data is also stored securely on our servers, and we regularly back up all of our customers’ data to prevent loss.

In addition to the security measures that we take, we also offer our customers a number of tools to help them keep their own sites secure. Our Security Center provides resources on how to create strong passwords, enable two-factor authentication, and more.

At Squarespace, we’re committed to keeping your website safe and secure. If you have any questions about website security, or if you need any help keeping your site secure, our 24/7 Customer Care team is always here to help.
