Can a Client Change Their Feedback on UpWork?

As a freelancer, you’re probably familiar with the importance of feedback on your UpWork profile. Good feedback can help you attract more clients and better projects, while bad feedback can make it harder to find work. So what happens if a client changes their feedback after you’ve already completed a project?

The short answer is that clients can’t change their feedback on UpWork. Once they’ve left feedback for a freelancer, they can’t go back and change it. This protects freelancers from having their feedback unfairly changed by unhappy clients.

PRO TIP: If you receive feedback that you’re not happy with, you can contact the client directly to try and resolve the issue. If you’re unable to reach a resolution, you can ask Upwork to review the feedback.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that clients can’t leave negative feedback. If a client is unhappy with your work, they can still leave negative feedback. However, if they later decide that they were happy with your work after all, they won’t be able to change their feedback to reflect that.

So if you’re worried about a client changing their feedback on your UpWork profile, don’t be! Once they’ve left feedback, it’s there for good.
