Can Figma Embed Videos?

Last updated on November 30, 2022 @ 4:12 am

Figma is a vector drawing and animation software that is used by graphic designers and web developers to create high quality designs and illustrations. One of its features is the ability to embed videos in projects, which can be useful for adding explanatory videos or for displaying video content within a design.

PRO TIP: Figma does not currently support the ability to embed videos within projects. While you can add video links to prototype screens, the video will need to be hosted on an external site.

To embed a video in Figma, first open the project in which you want to add the video. Then, click on the “Embed” icon in the toolbar and paste the URL of the video you want to add.

The video will then appear in your project. You can resize and reposition the video as needed.

You can also add videos to Figma files that have already been exported as HTML or CSS. To do this, open the file in a text editor and add the following code where you want the video to appear:

Replace “VIDEO_ID” with the ID of the YouTube video you want to embed. Save the file and open it in a web browser to view the embedded video.

Figma makes it easy to add videos to your designs, whether you’re working in a vector drawing program or exporting your design as HTML or CSS. By following these steps, you can easily embed videos in your Figma projects.
