If you’re using Shopify to power your online store, you may be wondering if it’s possible to change the domain name associated with your shop. After all, you might have started out with a less than ideal domain name, or your business might have recently undergone a rebranding effort.

Fortunately, it is possible to change the domain name associated with your Shopify store. In fact, it’s a relatively simple process that can be completed in just a few steps. Here’s a look at how to do it:

  1. Log into your Shopify account and navigate to the Settings page.
  2. Under the General heading, you’ll see an option for Store address. Click the Change address link.
  3. On the next page, you’ll be able to enter your new domain name.

Simply enter the name into the field and then click the Save button.

  4. Now, you’ll need to configure your DNS settings. If you’re using Shopify’s default DNS, you can find instructions on how to do this here. If you’re using a custom DNS provider, you’ll need to contact them for instructions on how to point your domain name to Shopify.
  5. Once your DNS settings have been updated, it can take up to 72 hours for the changes to propagate. After that, your Shopify store will be accessible at the new domain name.
