Can I Delete Photoshop Temp Files?

PRO TIP: If you are unsure about whether or not you should delete Photoshop temp files, it is best to err on the side of caution and not delete them. There is a possibility that deleting temp files could cause problems with your Photoshop installation or with the files you are working on.

As a general rule, yes, you can delete Photoshop temp files. However, there are certain circumstances where doing so may not be optimal.

For example, if you are working on a large file that is taking up a lot of space on your hard drive, you may want to keep the temp files until you are done with the project so that you can reclaim the space. Additionally, if you are having issues with Photoshop crashing or otherwise acting unstable, it may be worth keeping the temp files around so that you can troubleshoot the issue.

In most cases, though, it is safe to delete Photoshop temp files. If you are unsure whether or not you should delete them, you can always check with Adobe customer support for more guidance.
