Whether you’re a musician, comedian, or podcaster, if you want to embed your audio content on a Squarespace website, you can do so using the Audio Block. The Audio Block lets you upload MP3 files and play them on your site.

How to Embed an MP3 in a Squarespace Audio Block
To add an MP3 file to your site using the Audio Block:
- In the Home Menu, click Pages.
- Hover over the page where you want to add the audio player and click Edit.
- Click an insert point where you want to add the block or drag the block into your layout.
- In the Blocks panel, click Audio.
- Click the Upload tab.
- Click Select Files and choose an MP3 file from your computer. Click Open.
Your MP3 will begin uploading automatically. To add multiple MP3s at once, hold Shift (PC) or Option (Mac) while selecting multiple files.
Note: While we don’t recommend it, you can upload WAV files up to 10 MB. If they’re larger than that, try compressing them first with a tool like fre:ac (PC) or XLD (Mac).
- When your file finishes uploading, enter a Title and Caption (optional).
Captions appear below your audio player. You can format them using our Markdown support.
Titles appear in playlists if you have more than one track in your Audio Block.
- Click Apply.

If you host your audio files on another site like SoundCloud or Bandcamp, you can add them to your site using the Audio Block’s External tab.
- In the Home Menu, click Pages.
- Click an insert point where you want to add the block or drag the block into your layout.
- In the Blocks panel, click Audio.
- Click the External tab.
