Can I End the Contract in UpWork?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 11:29 am

When you sign up for an UpWork account, you’re agreeing to the terms of service. Part of those terms state that you’re entering into a contract with UpWork. This contract can be ended by either party at any time, with or without cause.

If you’re ready to move on from UpWork, there are a few things you need to do in order to end your contract. First, you need to cancel all active contracts that you have with clients.

You can do this by going to the My Jobs tab and clicking the cancel button next to the contract name. Once all contracts have been canceled, you’ll need to close your account.

PRO TIP: If you’re thinking about ending your contract with Upwork, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First, before you end your contract, be sure to read over the terms and conditions carefully. Upwork may have specific requirements that need to be met before you’re able to end your contract. Secondly, if you have any outstanding payments owed to Upwork, make sure these are paid off before you try to end your contract. Finally, if you have any disputes with your client, be sure to try and resolve these before ending the contract, as this could cause problems down the road.

To close your account, go to the settings page and scroll down to the bottom where it says “Close Account.” Click that button and confirm that you want to close your account. Once your account is closed, your contract with UpWork will be ended.

It’s important to note that once your account is closed, you will not be able to reopen it. So if you decide that you want to come back to UpWork at a later date, you’ll need to create a new account.

Ending your contract with UpWork is a simple process that can be done in just a few minutes. Once you’ve canceled all active contracts and closed your account, your contract will be officially ended.
