Figma is a vector-based application that allows users to design and prototype user interfaces. After Effects is a motion graphics and compositing application used for creating and manipulating visual effects and animation.

So, can you export from Figma to After Effects? The answer is yes!

You can export your Figma designs as image assets, which can then be imported into After Effects. This process is relatively simple and only requires a few steps.

First, open your Figma design in the software. Then, select the elements that you want to export as image assets. To do this, click on the “Layer” menu in the top toolbar and select “Export As…” from the dropdown menu.

PRO TIP: There is no direct way to export from Figma to After Effects. However, you can export your Figma design as an image or SVG and import it into After Effects.

In the Export window that appears, select “PNG” from the “Format” dropdown menu. You can also choose to export your design as a JPG or PDF file, but PNG is generally the best format for use in After Effects.

Next, decide where you want to save your exported image assets. Once you’ve done this, click on the “Export” button. Your image assets will now be saved in the location that you specified.

To import your image assets into After Effects, open the software and create a new project. Then, go to the “File” menu and select “Import…” from the dropdown menu.

In the Import window that appears, navigate to the location where you saved your image assets and select them. Finally, click on the “Open” button.

Your image assets will now be imported into After Effects and you can begin working with them in your project!
