Can I Have Multiple Prototypes in One Figma File?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 8:53 am

As a Figma user, you may be wondering if you can have multiple prototypes in one file. The answer is yes!

You can have as many prototypes as you want in one Figma file. Just create a new frame for each prototype.

To create a new frame, click the “+” icon in the top left corner of the workspace. Then, select “Prototype” from the drop-down menu.

PRO TIP: There is no definitive answer to this question as it depends on the specific project you are working on. However, as a general rule of thumb, it is generally not advisable to have multiple prototypes in one Figma file as it can lead to confusion and complexity when trying to manage and update the prototypes. If you do decide to have multiple prototypes in one Figma file, be sure to clearly label and organize them so that you can easily find and edit the relevant prototype when necessary.

Each prototype will have its own set of layers. To edit a layer, simply click on it in the Layers panel. Then, make your changes in the Properties panel.

When you’re ready to test your prototype, click the “Preview” button in the top right corner of the workspace. This will open your prototype in a new browser tab. From here, you can click around to test all of your prototypes.

conclusion : You can have multiple prototypes in one Figma file by creating a new frame for each prototype.
