Can I Import From Illustrator to Figma?

There are a number of ways to import files from Illustrator to Figma. The most common method is to use the ‘File > Open’ menu option in Figma. This will allow you to select an Illustrator file on your computer and open it in Figma.

Another way to import Illustrator files into Figma is to use the ‘File > Import’ menu option. This will allow you to select an Illustrator file and import it as a new layer in the current Figma file.

You can also drag and drop an Illustrator file from your computer onto the Figma canvas. This will create a new image frame on the canvas and automatically import the contents of the Illustrator file.

PRO TIP: If you are attempting to import from Illustrator to Figma, please be aware that there may be some loss of data and/or formatting. It is recommended that you export your Illustrator file as an .SVG file and then import that into Figma.
