Can I Import XD Files to Figma?

As a design tool, Adobe XD has a lot to offer. However, one of the things it doesn’t offer is the ability to import XD files into Figma.

That said, there are ways to work around this limitation. Here’s a look at how you can import XD files into Figma:

The first thing you need to do is export your XD file as an image. To do this, go to File > Export > Export As and select the image format you want to use.

Once you’ve done this, open up Figma and create a new file. Then, go to File > Import and select the image you just exported from XD. Figma will now import your XD file as an image.

PRO TIP: There is no guarantee that XD files will import correctly into Figma. Some features and formatting may be lost or changed during the import process.

Once your XD file is imported into Figma, you’ll need to use the Vectorize tool to convert it into a vector graphic. To do this, select the image and go to Edit > Vectorize.

Select the settings you want and click “Vectorize.” Figma will now convert your XD file into a vector graphic.

Now that your XD file is imported into Figma, you can start working with it just like any other vector graphic. You can use the Selection tool to select individual elements, the Pen tool to draw new elements, and the Text tool to add text.

If you need to make any changes to your design, simply go back to Adobe XD and make your changes there. Then export your design as an image and import it into Figma again.

Conclusion:

So, can you import XD files into Figma? Yes, but it’s not an ideal workflow.

You’ll need to export your XD files as images and then use the Vectorize tool in Figma to convert them into vector graphics. However, once you’ve done this, you can work with your design just like any other vector graphic in Figma.
