Can I Recover Unsaved Photoshop Work?

There are a few things you can do to try and recover unsaved Photoshop work.

First, try checking the Recent Files list. Photoshop automatically saves a list of the most recent files you’ve worked on, and if you accidentally closed a file without saving, it might be listed here.

To access the Recent Files list, go to File > Open Recent. If the file you’re looking for is listed, simply click on it to open it.

If the file isn’t listed in the Recent Files list, your next best bet is to check your Recovery Folder. Photoshop automatically saves copies of unsaved files here, so if you’re lucky, you might be able to find what you’re looking for.

To access the Recovery Folder, go to Edit > Preferences > File Handling. Under the Auto Recover section, click on the Browse.. button. This will open up your Recovery Folder.

If you still can’t find your unsaved work, your last resort is to try using a file recovery program. These programs scan your hard drive for any files that haven’t been properly saved, and they might be able to help you recover your unsaved Photoshop work. We recommend using Recuva, which is a free file recovery program.

PRO TIP: There is no guarantee that you will be able to recover unsaved Photoshop work. If you have not saved your work, you should try to do so as soon as possible. If you are unable to save your work, you may lose all of your unsaved changes.
