Can I Use Canva Elements on My Website?

Last updated on December 8, 2022 @ 3:00 am

As a general rule, you can use Canva Elements on your website as long as you adhere to our Terms of Use. This means you can’t sell or redistribute the element on its own, or as part of a product where the element contributes to the core value of the product.

For example, you can’t sell a poster where the only thing differentiating it from other posters is a single Canva Element.

If you want to use Canva Elements in an item you plan to sell, we recommend creating something original that incorporates multiple elements. For example, you could design a T-shirt using several different Canva Elements or create a digital scrapbooking kit that contains several individualized elements. As long as your final product is significantly different from the original Elements, and contains enough original content to be considered your own work, it should be fine to sell.

Additionally, please remember to attribute credit to Canva whenever you use our Elements.

You can do this by including a statement in your product description that says something like “This product contains [insert number] Canva Elements” with a link back to our site. If you have any questions about whether your planned use for Canva Elements is allowed, please contact us. We’re always happy to chat!

PRO TIP: If you are planning to use Canva Elements on your website, be aware that there are some potential risks. Canva Elements are not always compatible with all web browsers and devices, so there is a chance that some visitors to your site may not be able to see or use them properly. Additionally, because Canva Elements are hosted on Canva’s servers, your website’s load time may be affected if there is a high volume of traffic to Canva’s site.
