As the world’s largest freelancing platform, UpWork connects businesses of all sizes to talented independent professionals. In 2019, we teamed up with PayPal to make it even easier for Chinese freelancers to get paid. Now, with the recent integration of Alipay, we’re giving Chinese freelancers and businesses another convenient way to transact.
Alipay is one of the most popular payment methods in China, with over 1 billion active users. The integration will allow freelancers in China to be paid directly into their Alipay account, giving them more flexibility and control over how they receive and spend their earnings.
To start using Alipay on UpWork, simply add your Alipay account in the “Get Paid” section of your Settings. Once you’ve been paid, you can withdraw your earnings to your Alipay balance or linked bank account at any time.
If you’re a business looking to hire a freelancer in China, you can now pay them through UpWork using Alipay. This is a convenient way to pay your freelancers without having to set up a separate payment method.
UpWork is committed to making it easier for businesses to connect and work with talent around the world. With the addition of Alipay, we’re one step closer to achieving that goal.
