As a Shopify user, you may be wondering if it’s possible to remove the “Powered by Shopify” text from the footer of your online store. While this text is required by Shopify’s Terms of Service, there are a few ways that you can hide or style it to make it less noticeable.

1. Use a Custom Footer

One way to remove the “Powered by Shopify” text is to use a custom footer.

Custom footers are available with the Shopify Plus plan and can be added to any other plan through the use of an app. With a custom footer, you can add your own text, links, and HTML, which means that you can completely remove the “Powered by Shopify” text if you wish.

2. Use CSS to Style the Text

If you’re not on Shopify Plus or don’t want to use an app, you can use CSS to style the “Powered by Shopify” text. For example, you could add the following code to your theme’s CSS file:

.powered-by {
display: none;
}

This would completely remove the text from your footer. If you just want to change the color or size of the text, you can use CSS properties such as color and font-size. For example:

PRO TIP: If you remove Powered by Shopify from your store, your store will no longer be able to process payments. You will also lose access to your Shopify account and all of your data.

.powered-by {
color: #999999;
font-size: 12px;
}

3. Use a Third-Party App

If you’re not comfortable working with code, there are also a few apps that can help you remove or style the “Powered by Shopify” text in your footer. These apps usually come with a variety of customization options, so you can find one that fits your needs and budget.
