Can Squarespace Do Newsletters?

Most people think of website-building when they think of Squarespace, but the platform is also capable of helping you create and send newsletters. You can use Squarespace’s email marketing tools to cultivate relationships with your subscribers, and keep them updated on what’s going on with your business.

There are a few things to keep in mind when you’re using Squarespace for newsletters. First, you’ll need to make sure that you have a good understanding of HTML and CSS in order to create a newsletter that looks the way you want it to. Secondly, Squarespace’s email marketing tools are only available to users on the Business and Commerce plans; if you’re not on one of those plans, you won’t be able to use the platform for your newsletters.

Assuming you’re on a Business or Commerce plan, though, let’s take a look at how you can use Squarespace to create and send newsletters.

Creating a newsletter with Squarespace is similar to creating any other kind of email campaign with the platform. You’ll start by creating a new campaign, and then choosing “Newsletter” as your campaign type. From there, you’ll be able to customize your newsletter using Squarespace’s drag-and-drop editor.

One of the great things about using Squarespace for newsletters is that you have access to a wide range of templates. Whether you want a simple text-based newsletter or something more visually-appealing, there’s likely a template that will suit your needs. And if you can’t find a pre-made template that you like, Squarespace also gives you the ability to create your own custom template.

Once you’ve created your newsletter, it’s time to start adding content. If you already have content from your website that you want to include in your newsletter,Squarespace makes it easy to do so by allowing you to import content blocks from your website into your newsletter. Alternatively, you can start from scratch and create new content specifically for your newsletter.

Once you’re happy with your newsletter content, it’s time to start adding subscribers. If you already have a list of subscribers, you can import them into Squarespace with just a few clicks. Alternatively, if you’re starting from scratch, you can add a sign-up form to your website so that people can subscribe to your newsletter directly from there.

Once you have some subscribers added, it’s time to send out your first newsletter! Before hitting the “send” button, though, be sure to proofread your newsletter carefully; once it’s sent out,you won’t be able to edit it.

When you’re ready to send, simply choose the date and time that you want your newsletter to go out, and hit “send.” Your subscribers will then receive your newsletter at the specified time.

PRO TIP: Squarespace is not a good option for newsletters. The platform is not built for sending mass emails, and you will likely end up with a high bounce rate and low deliverability. There are much better options out there for newsletters, so use one of those instead.
