The short answer is yes! You can absolutely use Squarespace to create a website for your Etsy shop. In fact, we recommend it!
PRO TIP: Although Squarespace and Etsy can integrate with each other, it is not recommended to do so. The reason for this is because when you connect the two platforms, your Etsy shop becomes a sub-section of your Squarespace website. This can cause confusion for customers, as they will have to navigate to a different part of your website to access your Etsy shop. In addition, any changes you make to your Etsy shop will not be reflected on your Squarespace website, and vice versa.
Here’s a quick overview of how to integrate your Squarespace website with your Etsy shop:
- Step One: Create a new page on your Squarespace website and title it “Shop” or something similar. This will be the page where you’ll embed your Etsy shop.
- Step Two: Log in to your Etsy account and go to “Your Shop” > “Info & Appearance”. On this page, scroll down to the “Shop Header” section and click on the “Change Image” button.
- Step Three: A pop-up window will appear. In the “Link To” field, enter the URL of the “Shop” page you created on your Squarespace website.
Then click the “Save & Close” button.
- Step Four: Now go back to your Etsy shop and click on the “Customize Your Shop” link. In the left-hand sidebar, you should see a new section titled “Shop Page Content”. Click on the “Add A Page” link under this section.
- Step Five: Enter a title for your page (we recommend something like “Shop Our Etsy Store”) and then click on the “Add Page” button.
- Step Six: On this page, scroll down to the bottom and you should see an “Embed Code” field. Copy the code from this field and paste it into the body of your new page on Squarespace.
- Step Seven: Save your changes and preview your new page! You should now see your Etsy shop embedded on your Squarespace website.
