Can We Copy Description on Fiverr?

Last updated on September 28, 2022 @ 8:57 pm

There’s no doubt that Fiverr is a great resource for finding creative professionals to do all sorts of work for you, including writing descriptions. But can you simply copy the descriptions that these professionals write and use them on your own website or product?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. Fiverr prohibits the use of its content for commercial purposes, including copying and pasting descriptions. This means that if you want to use a Fiverr-written description on your website or product, you’ll need to get permission from the author first.

Fortunately, getting permission from the author is usually not too difficult. Most authors are happy to allow their work to be used commercially as long as they are properly credited. So if you contact the author and let them know how you’d like to use their work, they’ll likely be happy to give you permission.

PRO TIP: If you are considering copying a description from another Fiverr user, be aware that this is considered plagiarism and is against the Fiverr Terms of Service. You may be subject to having your account suspended or terminated if you are found to be plagiarizing.

Of course, there’s always the possibility that the author will say no or that they’ll want to be paid for their work. In either case, you’ll need to look elsewhere for a description or come up with one yourself.

Conclusion:

So, while you can’t simply copy and paste descriptions from Fiverr onto your own website or product, it is possible to get permission from the authors to do so. In most cases, authors are happy to allow their work to be used commercially as long as they are given proper credit. However, there is always the possibility that an author will say no or that they will want to be paid for their work.
